How to Set Up WhatsApp Business & a WhatsApp Community for Florists

We've created a simple, step by step guide on How to Create a WhatsApp Business Account and Set Up a Community Chat specifically for florist businesses.


Part 1: How to Create a WhatsApp Business Account For your Florist Business

A WhatsApp Business account can help florists manage customer orders, enquiries, and deliveries professionally. It also gives your customers the opportunity to message you directly instead of calling (we know that Gen-z and Millennials are adverse to picking up the phone to talk to someone!).


What You Need:

  • A smartphone (Android or iPhone)

  • A phone number for your florist business

  • Internet connection

Steps:

  1. Download WhatsApp Business

    • Go to the Google Play Store or App Store

    • Search for WhatsApp Business

    • Download and install the app

  2. Open the App & Accept Terms

    • Open WhatsApp Business

    • Agree to the Terms and Conditions

  3. Verify Your Business Phone Number

    • Enter your flower shop’s phone number

    • Receive a 6-digit SMS code

    • Enter the code to verify

  4. Set Up Your Florist Business Profile

    • Business Name: Your flower shop's name (E.g. Bloom & Petal Florist)

    • Category: Florist / Gift Shop

    • Set your business hours:

    • Profile Photo: We recommend adding your businesses logo or a clear photo of one of your floral arrangements

  5. Add Business Details (Highly Recommended)

    • Go to Tools → Business Profile

    • Add:

Part 2: How to Create a WhatsApp Channel for your Florists Business


A WhatsApp Channel is useful for:

  • Launching new ranges

  • Sharing important information with customers like changes to opening hours

  • Promotions


Steps:

  1. Open WhatsApp Business

    • Make sure the app is updated

  2. Go to the Updates Tab

  3. Create a New Channel

    • Tap Create Channel

  4. Add Community Details

    • Channel Name: (Example: Bloom & Petal Flower Community)

    • Description: “Updates on new flower arrivals, promotions, seasonal specials, and important announcements.”

    • Community Icon: Your logo or a floral image

  5. Add Groups to the Community You can add or create groups such as:

    • 🌹 Daily Flower Availability

    • 🚚 New Collections

  6. Create the Community

    • Review details

    • Tap Create
